Head Chef to oversee a transformation project from cafè to brasserie - you must be A HANDS ON CHEF / LEADER !!!
We are a bustling cafe located in the heart of Guernsey, known for our delicious breakfasts, brunches, snacks, and afternoon tea treats. Our cafe has a capacity of 250 covers and a diverse clientele of families, shoppers, and couples and we are seeking a talented Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Develop and update menus to ensure variety, quality, and seasonal relevance
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to meet budgetary targets
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and support for professional development
- Collaborate with management to implement strategic plans for the conversion and upgrade of the cafe into a modern brasserie
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among kitchen personnel
Requirements:
- Culinary arts qualification or equivalent experience
- Food hygiene level 2 certification
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, with proven leadership abilities
- Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu development
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service
